Sir Gawain and the Green Knight: 14 prints on the theme of a poem

at MoMA Machynlleth 

Saturday 24th March at 12.00

The exhibition charts the collaboration between Clive Hicks-Jenkins and The Penfold Press to make a series of 14 prints inspired by the Faber & Faber 2007 edition of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight translated by Simon Armitage, who will be reading from the poem. Included in the exhibition will be sketches, maquettes, proofs and studies for the series, alongside the fourteen prints. A fully illustrated catalogue has been published to celebrate the completion of the project.

Please join us for the Private View at the Martin Tinney Gallery, Cardiff, on Wednesday the 10th January,  6 - 7.30 pm.

The exhibition runs until 27th January.

The exhibition celebrates the completion of the artist's fourteen print series based on the medieval poem, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and it includes associated drawings and paintings. The editioned screen prints have been produced and published by Daniel Bugg of the Penfold Press. The exhibition will be accompanied by a text from art writer and curator James Russell.
