In 2013 composer Mark Bowden collaborated with the poet Damian Walford Davies to make a music theatre work inspired by Clive Hicks-Jenkins series of drawings titled The Mare’s Tale. To coincide with the Berkeley Ensemble’s 2019 national tour of the work, Grey Mare Press has published the full libretto, illustrated with production photographs from the workshop performance given in 2013. The edition also includes an Introduction by the artist, and an Afterword by the composer. It’s available directly from:
