Beowulf for Folio Society by Clive Hicks-Jenkins

Clive Hicks-Jenkins has illustrated a new edition of Seamus Heaney’s translation of Beowulf for Folio Society. With an introduction by Dr Janina Ramirez, the title has been produced as a ‘special edition’. The book is leather bound and comes cased in an embossed, cloth-covered clam-shell box and with an added print suitable for framing.

The Resistance Jug by Clive Hicks-Jenkins

Poet Laureate Simon Armitage’s poem ‘Resistance’ has been reproduced in full on a jug made by Sussex Lustreware to raise funds for the British Red Cross in Ukraine.

The jug is decorated with illustrations by Clive Hicks-Jenkins, the text has been set by Deborah Hopson-Wolpe in type designed by her father, Berthold Wolpe, and it comes in a presentation box made by bookbinder Christopher Shaw.

The jug is being offered at auction on Sunday 18 December 2022 at the Freud Museum in London.
